Step 1: To fill a crack in concrete repair or to waterproof something, you must first drill holes into the concrete that converges the crack, using a hammer drill. The holes are typically drilled at a 45-degree angle to meet the crack midway through the structure, ensuring the resin is directed towards both the front and back of the crack.
Step 2: Flush the holes in the concrete. Failing to flush out the dust produced by drilling can result in it being pushed into the crack during injection, potentially blocking the crack and hindering the resin from reaching its intended location. This also removes other contaminants such as oil and paint etc. Insert a flexible hose to the back of the hole, allowing water to push the dust from the back to the concrete's surface. Continue flushing until the water runs clear. You can now install your injection port, which seals the hole and provides the injection pump with a direct link to the crack. This also provides an indication on the extent and ease with which the resin will penetrate the crack upon injection and assists in opening areas where the resin might not naturally flow. Finally, it ensures that there is sufficient moisture for the resin to react with.
Step 3: Inject the resin. Begin with the minimum pressure needed to maintain a steady flow of resin into the crack, and gradually increase the pressure as required to ensure the resin continues to move. When the resin isn’t moving further along the crack/damage anymore, move to another whole.
