You can have the perfect spray pattern and mix consistency but if reveals, corners and awkward spaces aren’t finished properly, it shows. [![Shop Now](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/20165488/89ad658f-c55a-4d11-ae40-5b3d9851dd8e.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/20165488/89ad658f-c55a-4d11-ae40-5b3d9851dd8e) [![Thin Coat Trowel](https://blog.ces-hire.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Thin%20Coat%20Trowel.jpg?width=181&height=241&name=Thin%20Coat%20Trowel.jpg)](https://ces-hire.com/product/plastic-thin-coat-render-texturing-finishing-trowel/)That’s where specialist texturing floats come into their own. At CES Hire, we know that professional results rely on using the right tool for the right area. The Refina ABS Mini Texture Float range is designed specifically for those confined and detailed sections where standard floats simply can’t reach. In this guide, we’ll break down the shapes, sizes and ideal applications so you can choose the right float for a flawless finish every time. --- ## Why Specialist Texture Floats Matter Standard texture floats are perfect for open wall areas. But when you move into tighter sections, they can become difficult to control and may leave drag marks or inconsistent texture. Specialist mini floats offer: - Greater control in confined spaces - Improved manoeuvrability - Consistent texture across the entire façade - Reduced risk of marking or overworking the surface Whether you’re working with silicone top coat renders or other textured coatings, maintaining even pressure and movement is key to a professional finish. --- ## [The Refina ABS Mini Texture Float – 3mm Blade](https://ces-hire.com/product/abs-mini-texture-float-3mm-blade/) This compact float is designed for precision work in awkward areas where a full-size float won’t fit comfortably. ### [![Refina Mini Texture Trowels](https://blog.ces-hire.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Refina%20Mini%20Texture%20Trowels.jpg?width=251&height=334&name=Refina%20Mini%20Texture%20Trowels.jpg)](https://ces-hire.com/product/abs-mini-texture-float-3mm-blade/)Ideal for: - Window reveals - Doorways - Tight internal angles - Around external downpipes and guttering - Small repair or touch-up work The 3mm ABS plastic blade provides the right balance of flexibility and rigidity. It allows you to float up textured coatings without digging in or dragging the material. Because of its smaller footprint, you can maintain better pressure control particularly useful when finishing near trims or beads where accuracy matters most. --- ## [The Refina ABS Mini Pointed Texture Float – 3mm Blade](https://ces-hire.com/product/abs-mini-pointed-texture-float-3mm-blade/) When you’re working into sharp internal corners or detailed architectural features, the pointed version becomes invaluable. ### What makes it different? The pointed shape allows you to reach deeper into corners and tight junctions without distorting the [![Refina mini pointed texture trowels](https://blog.ces-hire.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Refina%20mini%20pointed%20texture%20trowels.jpg?width=255&height=340&name=Refina%20mini%20pointed%20texture%20trowels.jpg)](https://ces-hire.com/product/abs-mini-pointed-texture-float-3mm-blade/)surrounding texture. ### Best used for: - Sharp corner detailing - Narrow reveals - Edges around trims - Intricate façade features Like the standard mini float, it features a durable 3mm plastic blade. The material is robust enough for repeated site use while still being gentle on freshly applied render. If you’ve ever struggled to achieve a clean corner finish without overworking the area, this shape solves that problem. --- ## [The Refina ABS Round Texture Float – 3mm Blade](https://ces-hire.com/product/refina-abs-round-texture-float-3mm-blade/) The round version offers another level of finesse. Its curved edges provide smooth, controlled movement across textured coatings, reducing the risk of leaving marks. This makes it particularly useful when floating up silicone top coat renders, where consistent pressure is essential to achieve an even texture. ### [![Refina Round Texture Floats](https://blog.ces-hire.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Refina%20Round%20Texture%20Floats.jpg?width=242&height=323&name=Refina%20Round%20Texture%20Floats.jpg)](https://ces-hire.com/product/refina-abs-round-texture-float-3mm-blade/)Key benefits: - Excellent control on textured finishes - Reduced drag and surface marking - Smooth blending between detailed and open areas - Ideal for floating silicone top coats One of the biggest challenges with silicone renders is maintaining a uniform texture across the entire elevation. The mini round float allows applicators to replicate the same finish quality in tight spaces as on large wall sections. That consistency is what separates an average finish from a professional one. --- ## Why Blade Thickness Matters All three floats feature a 3mm ABS plastic blade and that’s not by accident. A blade that’s too flexible can create uneven pressure and inconsistent texture. Too rigid, and it may drag or gouge the surface. The 3mm specification provides: - Controlled flexibility - Even pressure distribution - Reliable durability - Consistent finish results For textured coatings, balance is everything. --- ## Matching the Right Shape to the Job Choosing the correct float isn’t about preference — it’s about application. Here’s a simple guide: - **Standard Mini Float** – General confined areas and reveals - **Pointed Mini Float** – Tight internal corners and sharp angles - **Round Mini Float** – Silicone renders and blending textured finishes Many professional applicators carry all three. That way, they can adapt quickly depending on the detail they’re working on. --- ## Achieving a Perfect Render Finish [![New Refina Texture Trowels (3)](https://blog.ces-hire.com/hs-fs/hubfs/New%20Refina%20Texture%20Trowels%20(3).jpg?width=253&height=337&name=New%20Refina%20Texture%20Trowels%20(3).jpg)](https://ces-hire.com/product-category/hand-tools/plastering-tools/)No matter how good your machine setup is, finishing technique makes the difference. When using mini texture floats: 1. Maintain consistent pressure. 2. Avoid overworking the surface. 3. Blend edges gradually into open wall areas. 4. Keep tools clean to prevent drag marks. Detail areas often draw the most attention especially around windows and doors. Clean, consistent finishing in these sections elevates the entire project. --- ## Small Tools, Big Impact It’s easy to focus on large equipment like plastering machines and spray setups. But specialist hand tools are just as important when it comes to achieving high-end results. The Refina ABS Mini Texture Float range gives you: - Precision - Control - Consistency - Professional-grade finishes When every detail matters, the right shape and size make all the difference.
