This year (2017) the Royal British Legion were asking everyone to Rethink Remembrance by recognising the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces community, past and present. This got us thinking at how CES Hire, along with our customers, could try and raise some money for Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Here’s What We Came Up With…
From Monday 30th October until Sunday 12th November (remembrance Sunday) CES Hire donated 10% of all tools, tape and PPE sales to the poppy appeal.
What Was The Total Raised…
Our customers helped us raise £175 through tool, tape and PPE sales over the 2 week period.
We are delighted with the amount raised over the 2 week period and CES Hire has decided to match the amount taking our total raised for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to £350!
What Does The Money Raised Go Towards?
The Royal British Legion use the donations they receive to make sure they help the Armed Forces community in a variety of ways:
Welfare – Through a range of services, we ensure that members of the Armed Forces community receive the support they need, from rehabilitation courses to careers advice for those leaving Service.
Remembrance – We are committed to helping the nation understand the importance of Remembrance to make sure sacrifices from conflicts old and new are never forgotten.
Campaigns – We campaign to improve the lives of our Service people by lobbying Government on issues relating to the Armed Forces.
Membership – Legion membership is a network of Service personnel, veterans and civilians who care about our cause. Our members volunteer and fundraise to help us deliver even more support.
Fundraising – We fundraise all year round to make sure we can continue to support the Armed Forces community, for as long as we are needed.
