You may remember towards the end of last year CES ran a charity event in conjunction with our tape sales to raise money for Tadley Elderly Day Care Centre. On Wednesday 30th March we were delighted to present this wonderful Centre with a cheque for £1000.
Tadley Elderly Day Care supports an integral member of the CES family, one of our founding members Alma Rogers. Alma set up CES Hire alongside her husband Dennis almost 40 years ago and played a key role in the office management and accounts for over 25 years. CES has remained in the family and is now run by Alma and Dennis’s son Nick Rogers.
Alma, who will turn 90 this summer, currently enjoys two days at Tadley Elderly Day Care Centre. The centre is a wonderful resource not just for Alma but other elderly people and those that suffer from dementia, Parkinson’s, strokes, loneliness and isolation. They provide a superb timetable of activities for their visitors as well as a delicious two course hot lunch. The staff are so friendly and really help to enrich the lives of their visitors. The centre provides a vital service for families that care for their relatives by giving them important time off whilst in the knowledge their loved ones are receiving the best possible care.
Tadley Elderly Day Centre receive no local authority or national funding therefore are grateful for any additional funding they receive. We felt it was a brilliant cause for CES to support especially given the enjoyment Alma gets from her Monday and Wednesday spent there. Nick (Alma’s son) went to present the cheque to the Centre and staff. Alma’s son-in-law Malcolm Henwood very kindly donated this wonderful presentation cheque from his company ImageBox Design (also the magic behind CES’s brilliant Christmas cards).
We hope this donation will help the staff to continue running such a fantastic service which supports many elderly people and their families.
