A Tribute to Alma Rogers

A Tribute to Alma Rogers

Celebrating the life of Co-Founding CES Director

40 years ago, Dennis and Alma Rogers founded Construction Equipment Services (which transitioned to CES Hire in July 2003). This year, whilst we mark the start of a year of celebrations for our 40 years in business, we also take the opportunity to pay tribute to Alma Rogers who sadly passed away before Christmas.

Family Business

CES Hire has been a family business since opening on January 10th 1983. It was set up by Dennis and Alma Rogers and their son Nick Rogers also became a director in 1994. Many of you will know Nick who remains a CES director now. Nick's daughter Jessica also joined the CES team as a marketing administrator in 2018. Alma continued as a director for an amazing 29 years, resigning in May 2012. Some of our longstanding customers may remember seeing Alma in the offices at Binders Industrial Estate as she managed the accounts for many years.

Remembering Alma

Alma celebrated her 90th birthday in July 2022, marking this incredible milestone with her son and daughter and their families including 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In her 90 years she created some wonderful memories which will forever be cherished. Alma sadly passed away on December 19th 2022 and will be greatly missed by her loving family.

A worthy Charity

Tadley Elderly Day Care Centre donation-1

A year ago, CES ran a charity campaign to raise money for Tadley Elderly Day Care. The Centre played an important role in the last few years of Alma's life since she attended the Centre twice a week. Nick says “The staff are such lovely caring people who are doing this because they passionately care about helping others and this in turn allows their carers a much-needed break. This is the ethos of the day care centre; keeping people at home as long as possible. The staff play games, supply teas, cake, a hot meal and keep the elderly men and women entertained throughout the day." Alma absolutely loved her days at the Centre and whilst as a company we raised a brilliant £1,000 for them last year, together with the family, we endeavour to raise even more now. Any donations will be gratefully received to support a charity that meant such a lot to Alma and her family.

Leaving a Legacy

Alma was the epitome of a life well-lived and she lives on through the treasured moments and memories held by her family.  Raising money for Tadley Elderly Day Care allows her to leave a legacy and supports the Centre in continuing their wonderful work helping many other families and their loved ones.
